TORO
SPAIN
Bodegas Coral Duero was founded in 2003 by Jesús Fernández, a native to Toro who spent most of his life working in the marine sector. A wine lover at heart, he harboured the dream to one day return home and produce the best wines in Toro. He went on to purchase over 30 hectares of the oldest and most resilient vines in El pego, a small village known to have the best terroir in the region.
A team experts in the rare and exceptional grape, Tinta de Toro, came together to produce our first harvest in 2005 and the results came quickly…

Rompesedas is our most iconic vineyard dating back to 1917. This was the name of the winery used by the founder during Coral Duero’s fruition. These historic vineyards create rare grapes that are then hand-picked at harvest, go through a careful selection process and use the best technology to produce an aromatic and elegant wine. The character, personality and tradition of Toro is carefully preserved in each bottle.

Our Mission.
Coral Duero is committed to honour the tradition of Toro’s historic terroir and respect the nature that nourishes its resilient soil.
The name was given to the winery by the founder Jesús Fernández, with Coral as a reference to his seafaring background.

SALGADERO

Bordeaux specialists from our origins, our Grand Cru expertise has developed through our activities as wine merchants and château owners. This solid footing was confirmed in 2011, with the acquisition of Château Beychevelle*, Grand Cru Classé de 1855. The selectivity of our distribution and the close relationships we maintain with our partner Grands Crus allow us exclusive access to on-trade only references, with a special emphasis on ready-to-drink vintages.
Salgadero’s grapes are manually harvested into 15kg boxes, with an average yield of 0.4 kg. A gentle destemming process occurs, then the juice is fermented in steel tanks in cold temperatures during a long maceration period. There are two punching downs per day during fermentation and then just one until the end of maceration at a lower temperature. This process lasts approximately 31 days. Aged in French and American oak barrels for 12 months. Ageing 12 months in French and American oak barrels.
This picturesque plot with the name Salgadero, was planted in 1930 with gobelet-trained and rainfed vines. Salgadero’s strong Tinta de Toro vines, twisted by the passing of time, are just another example of the resilience found in El Pego’s terroir. With respect to nature and the traditions of Toro, sustainable and responsible wine making processes are carefully carried out to create this elegant, full-bodied wine.
